For Government Officials.

APPTI - the go-to place for understanding the science and technology opportunities of the forest products industry

How the Government Benefits

Since the founding in 1994 of Agenda 2020—renamed APPTI in 2017—government agencies have been a key part of our tripartite forum made up of companies, government agencies, and universities.  This continues today.  APPTI welcomes additional agencies and national laboratories to our table.  Government entities are not charged for membership.

Our government partners find that APPTI is a good forum for understanding industry’s R&D opportunities and challenges.  We hold our meetings at national laboratories as well as universities, promoting contact with our member companies and introducing our industry partners to Federal capabilities and interests.  We can be a connection point between industry technology leaders, national laboratories and agencies, and universities.

Being part of this organization was one way to deliver Forest Service-developed technology and insight back into our industry and it also gave me a way to make appropriate contacts with progressive companies interested in creating the technological future of the industry.”

APPTI promotes the development of advanced manufacturing technologies that promise transformational impact on the paper and forest-based industries.  We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit alliance for scientific and educational purposes.  APPTI’s goals are well aligned with urgent national priorities such as energy efficiency and independence, responsible use of natural resources, and creation and preservation of rural jobs. Our roadmaps and teams maintain a line of sight from these national goals, to industry goals, to team objectives to achieving them. See how our vision aligns with National Priorities and Industry Goals.
